A step-by-step process.
Consultation & measurements
Precise measurement of the chest, assessment of existing breast tissue, discussion of implant options. Simulation with a sizer (trial implant).
General anaesthesia
A full-anaesthesia procedure, administered by the Spitali Amavita anaesthetist. Full monitoring throughout the procedure.
Placing the implant
The chosen incision (inframammary / periareolar / trans-axillary), creation of the pocket, placement of the implant, checking of position and symmetry. Duration: 1.5-2 hours.
Post-operative care
A compression garment is fitted immediately. A 1-night stay in the clinic for monitoring. Moderate pain, manageable with medication.

Recovery timeline.
Complete rest. Moderate, manageable pain. Compression garment 24/7. No raising the arms above the shoulders.
Pain decreases. Return to work (sedentary). Compression garment still worn 24/7. No lifting weights over 2 kg.
Light activity allowed. Compression garment worn during the day only. You may start lower-body exercise (not arms).
Avoid intense physical activity until the end of this period; then a gradual return to full activity (including sport). Final shape at 3-6 months.
