A nose in harmony with your face.
Surgical reshaping for aesthetic or functional reasons. A premium procedure using modern techniques (closed, open, ultrasonic) - for patients who want a natural result, not a "done" look.
What is rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is one of the most requested procedures in aesthetic surgery - a reshaping of the nose that can be:
- ●Aesthetic: correcting the shape, size, dorsal profile (hump), tip, or width of the nostrils
- ●Functional: correcting a deviated septum (septoplasty) for better breathing
- ●Combined: both at the same time
At Amavita we use modern techniques - closed rhinoplasty (with no external marks) for small to moderate changes, and open rhinoplasty for more complex changes. The ultrasonic (Piezo) technique allows more precise shaping of the bone.
The steps of the procedure.
Pre-operative consultation
Assessment of the nose, photographs from standard angles, optional 3D simulation. Discussion of your expectations and the technical options.
Anaesthesia
General anaesthesia. Our Amavita anaesthetist carries out the pre-operative assessment and stays with you throughout the procedure.
The procedure
Through a closed incision (inside the nostrils) or an open one (a small mark on the columella), the surgeon reshapes the bone and cartilage according to the plan. Duration: 2-3 hours.
Post-operative care
A splint is fitted for 7 days. You spend 1-2 hours in recovery, then move to your room. Mild swelling and bruising are normal.
Technical information.
Recovery timeline.
Swelling and bruising are at their most noticeable. Splint on the nose with tape over it. Breathing through the mouth. Complete rest, sleeping with your head elevated.
The splint and packing are removed (usually on day 7). External swelling starts to reduce noticeably.
Most patients return to activity and sedentary work. No sport or intense exercise. Internal swelling continues to reduce.
The "just operated" look fades. You may resume light exercise. The shape starts to settle.
The final shape settles in 6-12 months (later at the tip, which holds swelling longest).
